About Me

Quinn Sweeney is a digital media artist specializing in digital painting and graphic design. Growing up surrounded by artists, art became naturally woven into her life from an early age. Local classes with teachers who felt like family nurtured her creativity, and sketchpads were given to her faster than she could fill them. Drawing on location with her art classes sparked a lasting preference for landscapes and studies of nature.

After putting art on the back burner during high school, her time at Marist University reignited her passion and opened the door to digital art. In 2025, she completed her Senior Thesis, a series of digital paintings of the mountains of Oregon, created as concept art for a video game centered  on saving the U.S. National Parks. Quinn was also part of the capping working group, helping to create and coordinate the design of the senior capping exhibition. She is now working toward a career that keeps creativity at its center, always searching for her next source of inspiration.

Artist Statement

My artistic practice is driven by the desire to make people linger. I want viewers to pause in front of my work, sit with it, and feel something without being told what to feel. I work primarily in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, drawn to the endless digital toolbox for its ability to build immersive environments and experiment with atmosphere and dramatic lighting—though I occasionally return to charcoal and clay when the work calls for it.

I am especially drawn to themes of nature and environmental activism, creating imaginary landscapes that feel larger than life or quietly powerful. I grew up on video game concept art, and rediscovering it in college had rekindled my passion for making work; it's shown me how a setting alone can suggest a story or emotion without explanation

I look at art non-linearly; I grab onto a general idea and let it grow into itself rather than forcing a narrative. I value restraint, and the ability to capture something fleeting before it disappears.
