Still Here

Senior Capstone Exhibit 2026

This series is less about what you see and more about what's missing. I wanted to show how much life nature brings to a scene by revealing how little greenery exists in urban areas. The lack of urban plant life isn't accidental; it's tied to income inequality and systemic racism. Redlining is the denial or withholding of public and private funding, city services, or other resources to certain neighborhoods. Due to historical planning decisions made by figures like Robert Moses, this practice consistently targets low-income neighborhoods of color. Cities write off these areas and stop funding them, making it nearly impossible for residents to have equal access to public resources. The muted color palette reflects the physical and emotional impact of living without nature. These quiet scenes deserve more life, and I hope viewers come to understand how much a couple of trees can really mean.

A New Way Home

Senior Thesis 2026

This project consisted of three pieces of environmental concept art for a video game. It takes place in the North Cascades National Park in Oregon and centers around a mother bear who was separated from her cubs by loggers and must journey through the Cascades to find them. In theory, it’s a commentary about the current threats against our national parks. I aimed for a similar aesthetic as the national park postcards, focusing on a mainly monochromatic color palette for each environment.
